Depression is a disorder of the mind that is mostly characterized by constant depressed moods or loss of interest in participating in activities which creates an impairment that affects the regular day to day living. Anxiety is also a mental disorder that make the involved one experience feelings of fear or worry which are known to be powerful enough to affect the day to day routine of the person.
There are several factors that cause depression and they can be psychological , biological and social. Depression is caused when these factors come with a kind of distress that takes long to fade away. It is seen that once source can be responsible for the creation of depression but a combination of two or all three of these sources needs to be acknowledged also. This constant feeling of loss of interest or sadness that make distinctive major depression leads to various physical and behavioral symptoms. The symptoms will show different changes in appetite, concentration, self-esteem, energy level and daily behavior. In addition, depression can also make the individual have suicidal thoughts. There is lack for everyone suffering from this disorder because there are ways to treat it. The methods used to treat depression are talk therapy and medication. In situations where the condition is critical both methods are used to ensure a sound recovery at the end. There is a medical treatment for depression and it is known as electroconvulsive therapy or sometimes it can be referred to as shock therapy.
Another case altogether is anxiety when compared to depression. Fear and worry are the things that characterize anxiety which causes individual to experience panic attacks which is a disorder known as posttraumatic tress and obsessive-compulsive. The individual having anxiety commonly has a problem letting emotions go, emotions like worry. Negative thoughts build up in their minds and causes the individual to feel uncomfortable and also they feel fatigued all the time and if not they get sweaty. People that have this disorder also suffer from insomnia, irritability, nausea or trembling.
This condition needs not to be taken lightly and to be treated in order for it to not go any further and cause unwanted actions that may be tragic in future. The treatment usually consists of medication and counseling which is a bit similar to the treatment administered to depression. The medication given mostly consists of antidepressants. Changing of lifestyle would be advised if the condition is not worse and one would also be able to save expenses that would have cove with the treatment. Avoiding alcohol, doing physical exercise, eating healthy, quitting smoking and learning relaxation techniques are some of the life changes the individual needs to undertake.
